Tyler Packaging opens My Pouch web shop to put custom printed pouches within reach of small brands

A British flexible-packaging specialist has opened a digital storefront aimed squarely at the smallest buyers in the market, betting that start-ups and small brands want custom printed pouches without the traditional barriers of high minimums and long lead times. Tyler Packaging launched My Pouch on 1 October, a web-based custom printed pouch service built for businesses whose volumes never suited conventional flexible-packaging production.

The proposition is deliberately simple. Orders can start from just 500 units, with a dispatch window of 10 to 15 working days after artwork approval. Director Adam Kay frames the launch around accessibility: “Great products deserve great packaging, whatever the order size. We wanted to make custom packaging as easy as it should be.” For the small brand that previously could not justify a plate-based production run, that threshold change is the whole point.

My Pouch distils the ordering journey to three steps, pouch design, artwork upload, and packaging delivery. Kay argues the simplified process frees up working capital: “My Pouch’s simplified three-step process means less money tied up in stock and more freedom to grow at their own pace, reordering whenever they’re ready.” In an environment where small brands live or die on cash flow, removing the need to pre-buy large inventories is a meaningful commercial advantage.

A key technical enabler is variable data printing. Because every My Pouch product is produced solely on digital printing equipment, there are no printing plates, cylinders or set-up charges baked into the price. That, Tyler says, eliminates the hidden costs that traditionally penalise small orders. Crucially, digital also allows users to print multiple designs or variations within a single order and to personalise individual pouches, giving smaller brands the same creative latitude as their larger competitors. “Features like variable data printing also give smaller brands the same creative options as the bigger players too,” Kay said. “It’s ABC, easy as one, two, three.”

The launch responds to a clear shift in demand. Tyler Packaging says a growing number of start-ups and smaller brands need packaging but cannot fill the volumes that legacy production lines require. By lowering the entry point, My Pouch meets that audience where it is, pairing speed and low minimums with the kind of customisation that helps a young brand stand out on a crowded shelf.

Founded in 1982, Tyler Packaging is no novice to flexible packaging. The company operates sites in both Leamington Spa in the UK and Hoofddorp in the Netherlands, and its most recent Companies House accounts put turnover at 21.5 million pounds for the year to 31 March 2025, with a workforce of 21 people. The My Pouch launch extends that established capability to a segment the company had not previously served directly.

For the wider packaging supply chain, the move illustrates how digital print is reshaping the commercial model, not just the production method. Where analogue flexible packaging rewarded scale, digital rewards responsiveness, letting converters monetise short runs and versioning that were once economically impossible. Platforms like My Pouch effectively turn the converter into a self-service destination, broadening the customer base without a proportional rise in sales overhead.

There are strategic ripple effects too. By capturing the small brand early, Tyler positions itself to grow with those customers as they scale, a relationship that can mature into larger, recurring work. The reorder-anytime model also smooths demand for the converter, replacing sporadic large jobs with a steadier stream of smaller ones.

The challenge will be standing out in an increasingly crowded field of on-demand packaging web shops. Differentiation will rest on print quality, turnaround reliability and the depth of customisation My Pouch can offer. If Tyler can deliver on its promise of easy, fast, low-minimum custom pouches, it has identified a genuine and growing need.

Ultimately, My Pouch is a tidy example of digital printing’s quiet revolution: taking a capability that once demanded scale and handing it to the smallest players, on their terms. For start-ups priced out of traditional packaging, that is exactly the opening they were waiting for.

The competitive landscape for on-demand packaging is intensifying, with a growing roster of web-to-print pouch providers vying for the same small-brand customer. Tyler Packaging’s advantages are its four-decade track record and established production infrastructure in both the UK and the Netherlands, which gives My Pouch a credibility and capacity that pure-play start-ups lack. The company can absorb My Pouch volumes into existing digital lines rather than building a separate operation, keeping quality consistent as orders scale. For the small brand, that means the reassurance of working with an experienced converter rather than an unproven intermediary. If Tyler can pair that heritage with the speed and simplicity the platform promises, My Pouch has a clear lane in a crowded but fast-growing market.

Looking ahead, the broader significance of My Pouch is what it says about the direction of flexible packaging as a whole. Digital print has already transformed short-run labelling, and pouches are the next frontier, a category where customisation, versioning and fast reordering align perfectly with the needs of a new generation of consumer brands. By lowering the barrier to a professionally printed pouch, Tyler is effectively expanding the addressable market, drawing in entrepreneurs who might otherwise have settled for plain stock or generic imports. The companies that win this segment will be those that combine manufacturing muscle with genuine e-commerce simplicity, and My Pouch is Tyler’s answer to that brief.
