Sun Chemical tees up low-migration and sustainable portfolio for TLMI 2026

Sun Chemical will use the TLMI Annual Meeting 2026, taking place 25–27 October in Fort Lauderdale, to present its total-solutions approach for the label and packaging market, with a strong emphasis on food-safe, fast and sustainable printing.

Key highlights include low-migration UV LED inks engineered for food, beverage, health and personal-care packaging. The company will demonstrate next-generation systems designed for press speeds above 1,000 feet per minute, alongside multipurpose formulations that support both surface and reverse printing. Also on show are SunEvo digital primers, matte and tactile coatings, ultra-low-monomer adhesives, and a broad range of UV, UV LED, water-based, solvent-based, EB and conventional offset technologies.

“Packaging manufacturers need more than products, they need a partner that can help them navigate compliance, sustainability and production challenges,” said Dennis Sweet, vice president for NWTL, Commercial, Rycoline and Distributors at Sun Chemical. That partnership message is pitched directly at TLMI’s converter membership, many of whom are balancing tightening food-safety regulation with pressure to decarbonise.

Sustainability sits at the heart of the showcase. Visitors will see SolvaWash washable inks, Solimax AP compostable inks and coatings, and Duratort PFC nitrocellulose-alternative technologies. Beyond products, Sun Chemical will highlight analytical testing, regulatory support, biodegradation assessments, sustainability consulting, and lifecycle tools including Product Carbon Footprint analysis.

The company’s breadth — from inks and coatings to adhesives, primers, consumables, dispensing technologies and technical services — positions it as a single source for label and package printers facing converging demands. As brands push for safer chemistry and verifiable environmental credentials, converters need suppliers who can document performance as well as deliver it.

For TLMI attendees, the meeting remains a key venue to benchmark where the label and packaging supply chain is heading. Sun Chemical’s 2026 presentation suggests the immediate agenda is set: faster presses, safer inks, and a sustainability story anchored in data rather than aspiration. Converters weighing their next buying cycle will get a compact view of the formulations and services likely to define it.

Sustainability sits at the centre of Sun Chemical’s TLMI narrative. On display will be SolvaWash washable inks, Solimax AP compostable inks and coatings, and Duratort PFC nitrocellulose-alternative technologies — each aimed at helping converters meet tightening regulatory and brand-owner expectations without sacrificing press performance. Beyond products, Sun Chemical will highlight its analytical testing, regulatory support, biodegradation assessments and lifecycle tools, including Product Carbon Footprint analysis.

The emphasis on partnership over product is intentional. As Dennis Sweet, vice president for NWTL, Commercial, Rycoline and Distributors, noted, packaging manufacturers increasingly need a collaborator that can help them navigate compliance, sustainability and production complexity simultaneously. That message resonates strongly with TLMI’s converter audience, many of whom are balancing fast-changing food-safety rules with pressure to decarbonise.

For label and packaging printers, the TLMI Annual Meeting has long been a place to benchmark where the supply chain is heading. Sun Chemical’s 2026 showcase suggests the near-term agenda is set: faster presses, safer inks, and a credible sustainability story backed by data rather than aspiration. Converters attending in Fort Lauderdale will get a compact view of the formulations and services likely to define the next buying cycle.

The low-migration UV LED systems deserve particular attention. With food and beverage brands under intensifying scrutiny over chemical migration, inks that perform above 1,000 feet per minute while meeting stringent safety thresholds are no longer a niche requirement but a baseline expectation. Sun Chemical’s ability to pair that performance with compostable and washable alternatives gives converters a single conversation covering both speed and stewardship – exactly the combination TLMI members need to win and retain blue-chip accounts.
