India’s Screen Printing Scene Finally Gets Its Own Mega-Show — And It Could Reshape the Region

For years, India’s screen printing industry has been a giant quietly doing world-class work without a stage of its own. That changes in January 2027.

The Screen Printing & Graphics Association of India (SGAI) has announced the dates for the SGAI Expo / ASGA India Expo 2027. The debut edition runs January 21–23 at the CIDCO Exhibition & Convention Centre in Vashi, Navi Mumbai. For a sector that has “grown by leaps and bounds” but lacked a trusted forum for convergence, this is the missing link finally snapping into place.

A platform, not just a show

The organizers are explicit about the ambition. This isn’t a tired trade fair with a few stalls and weaker footfall. It’s positioned as a single-roof platform to explore business growth — covering the entire spectrum of the industry and all its applications. Exhibitors get to showcase their brand offerings; visitors get to network and build new business alliances. One location, the whole industry.

The show is backed by serious international weight: the Asia Screen Printing & Graphic Imaging Association (ASGA), the European Specialist Printing Manufacturers Association (ESMA), and SDPE China 2026, the Guangzhou International Screen Printing and Digital Intelligent Printing Expo. That trio of global partners signals this isn’t a local sideshow — it’s built to attract visitor delegations from many countries.

The organizer’s vision

Anil Brahmbhatt, President of SGAI, didn’t hide his enthusiasm: “The Indian screen printing industry is witnessing accelerated growth.” He invited the industry to “reap the benefits of its progress and development” by showing up for the inaugural edition, predicting it will “become among the world’s leading and Asia’s finest exhibitions.”

That confidence isn’t empty boosterism. Screen printing remains, as the association notes, the most cost-effective, easiest, and most versatile method — while other printing methods have limitations. It has retained its position and moved up the value chain. With rising domestic consumption and the Indian government’s “Make in India” thrust, the upside for tapping global markets is real.

Who should attend

The exhibitor profile spans technology drivers, knowledge transfer players, manufacturers, distributors, dealers, service providers, and allied businesses contributing to screen printing, textile printing, and digital printing. The visitor profile covers industrial screen printers, technicians, consultants, professionals, entrepreneurs, and product or service providers to end-users who rely on these methods.

In plain terms: if you make the machines, sell the inks, run the presses, or buy the output, this show wants you in the room.

Why a dedicated show matters

General printing expos are useful, but they dilute screen and textile printing into a corner. A dedicated event lets the specific pain points, innovations, and supply chains of this segment get the attention they deserve. For Indian businesses especially, it’s a chance to connect with neighboring markets — SGAI works closely with associations in several nations like ASGA, ESMA, and SPAK to help members explore cross-border opportunity.

The takeaway

India’s screen printing scene has the talent and the growth. What it lacked was a reliable, industry-owned forum to converge, showcase, and strike deals. SGAI Expo / ASGA India Expo 2027 is that forum, arriving with international backing and government tailwinds.

For anyone in screen, textile, or digital printing across Asia, mark January 21–23, 2027, in Navi Mumbai. The region’s printing industry is about to get a stage worthy of its scale — and the businesses that show up early will write the next chapter.
