Lindenmeyr Munroe to Acquire Omaha Paper Company, Extending Midwest Reach

Central National Gottesman has announced that its Lindenmeyr Munroe division will acquire Omaha Paper Company, a second-generation family business that recently rebranded as OPC Direct. Founded in 1961, Omaha Paper distributes paper, packaging materials and equipment, wide-format products and JanSan supplies, adding a broader regional footprint and established customer relationships to Lindenmeyr Munroe’s existing network.

The transaction reflects a continuing wave of consolidation in print and paper distribution, where scale, logistics and a deep product catalogue increasingly decide who can serve regional customers efficiently. For Lindenmeyr Munroe, the deal extends reach into Nebraska and the wider Midwest, a region where local relationships and fast fulfilment remain decisive for independent printers and print buyers.

Peter Harding, President of Lindenmeyr Munroe, framed the acquisition as a continuation of the company’s commitment to offer valuable distribution support to the core markets it serves, and to invest in and grow the business. The strategic logic is straightforward: combining Omaha Paper’s local expertise with Lindenmeyr Munroe’s product portfolio and technology platform should support further expansion across Nebraska and the surrounding states.

Omaha Paper’s longevity is itself a signal of resilience. As a family business operating since 1961, it has weathered multiple shifts in the paper market, from the rise of digital communication to the more recent recovery in packaging demand. Its rebrand to OPC Direct suggests an ambition to broaden how customers engage with the business, and the acquisition gives that effort a larger parent with deeper resources.

For customers, the practical benefits should centre on breadth and reliability. A distributor that can supply paper, packaging, wide-format media and equipment from a single source reduces the administrative overhead of managing multiple vendors. When that is paired with local knowledge of regional print shops and their workflows, the result is a more responsive supply partner.

The deal also illustrates how distribution has become technology-driven. Modern distributors compete not only on price and stock but on the digital platforms that let customers place orders, track deliveries and access technical specifications. Lindenmeyr Munroe’s technology platform, layered onto Omaha Paper’s customer base, is likely to be a key part of the integration story.

Geographically, the Midwest remains a vital print and packaging corridor, home to a dense mix of commercial printers, in-plants, packaging converters and quick-print operations. Capturing a stronger position there helps a national distributor defend share against both regional competitors and the steady pull of e-commerce supply models.

The transaction is expected to close at the end of October 2026. As with any acquisition, the real test will be integration: retaining Omaha Paper’s customer trust while extending the combined entity’s capabilities. Done well, the move strengthens a regional footprint without disrupting the service levels that earned that footprint in the first place.

For the broader market, the acquisition is another data point in the professionalisation of print distribution. Independent, relationship-led suppliers are increasingly folding into larger networks that can offer scale without losing the local touch. Lindenmeyr Munroe’s bet is that Omaha Paper’s relationships, combined with its own portfolio and platform, will compound into durable growth across the Midwest.
