Spanish converter Randofer triples down with third Omet KFlex K6 press

A Spanish label manufacturer has signalled long-term confidence in a single press platform by installing its third unit in just over two years. Etiquetas y Adhesivos Randofer has added two further Omet KFlex K6 presses at its facility in La Rinconada, Seville, bringing its total to three KFlex K6 installations in roughly 24 months and establishing Omet technology as a central pillar of its production growth strategy.

The relationship between Randofer and Omet began in 2024 with the installation of a fully equipped 10-colour KFlex K6 — the machine that, in the company’s telling, marked the start of what has since become a strategic technology partnership. Two years on, that confidence translated into a further expansion: over summer 2026 Randofer added an eight-colour and a six-colour configuration, both fully equipped, to sit alongside the original ten-colour press.

The rationale is flexibility. The KFlex platform’s multiplatform architecture allows different printing, embellishment and converting technologies to be combined and integrated within each press configuration. With three presses in different setups, Randofer can now tune workflows to the specifics of a given job — matching run length, decoration requirements and substrate without adding operational complexity. The result is greater production agility at a time when label buyers increasingly expect shorter runs, faster turnarounds and more sophisticated decoration.

“Omet technology has enabled us to build an extremely flexible production capacity that we can adapt to the different needs of our customers, without limiting ourselves in terms of applications or future development opportunities,” said Manuel Fernandez Rando, managing director of Randofer.

He was equally pointed about the human side of the decision. “The KFlex K6 has proven to be a versatile and reliable platform, capable of effectively supporting our growth plans. Equally important is the relationship we have built with Omet: from the very beginning, we have found a highly competent and responsive technical and sales team, backed by consistently reliable after-sales support. These are essential factors when choosing a technology partner with whom to develop a long-term project.”

That emphasis on partnership reflects a broader trend in the label sector, where the total cost of ownership is no longer measured only in press price but in uptime, service responsiveness and the ability to evolve a configuration as customer demand shifts. For a mid-sized converter competing in a crowded Spanish market, the ability to offer a diversified range of high-value label applications — without fragmenting production across incompatible machines — is a genuine commercial advantage.

Randofer frames the investment as part of a wider strategy to consolidate its position among leading label manufacturers in Spain and to broaden the high-value applications it can offer customers. Three presses in different configurations is, in effect, a deliberate hedge: it lets the business absorb a wide variety of job profiles on its own floor rather than subcontracting or turning work away.

For Omet, the repeat order is a validation of the KFlex concept — a modular platform that can scale from a focused six-colour line to a fully loaded ten-colour production centre without forcing the converter to rethink its operational model each time. As label converters worldwide weigh how to balance flexibility against complexity, Randofer’s three-press commitment is a clear vote for standardisation with variation: one architecture, multiple configurations, one trusted partner. It also signals that, despite ongoing margin pressure across European label printing, well-run converters are still investing to capture higher-value, more decorated work rather than competing purely on price — a strategy that rewards those who can pair technical versatility with responsive service.

The Spanish label market is a useful barometer for the wider European sector. Converters there face the same pressures felt across the continent: rising raw-material and energy costs, shorter run lengths demanded by brand owners, and a growing expectation of embellished, decorative labels that command premium margins. In that environment, the decision to standardise on one platform and repeat-invest rather than spread spend across competing suppliers is a statement of confidence in both the technology and the local market’s growth prospects.

It also reflects a maturing buyer behaviour. Where once a converter might chase the lowest capital cost, Randofer’s rationale — flexibility without operational complexity, plus responsive after-sales — shows that service and architectural coherence now outweigh upfront price for serious players. For Omet, the repeat order is more than a sale; it is a reference account that validates the KFlex concept in one of Europe’s more competitive label economies. As other Spanish and southern-European converters watch Randofer scale, the three-press installation may well become a template for how mid-sized label businesses defend share against larger groups without sacrificing the agility that won them their customers in the first place. In a market where overcapacity and price pressure routinely squeeze margins, Randofer’s willingness to invest through the cycle is itself a competitive signal that few of its peers can currently match.
