Avery Dennison Expands in India With a Doubled-Size Bengaluru Distribution Centre

Avery Dennison South Asia has inaugurated a new distribution centre in Bengaluru, a move the company describes as part of its ongoing effort to stay closer to its customers as India becomes one of its fastest-growing and most strategic markets. The new facility is more than double the size of its previous one and is designed to support rising demand across labels, intelligent labels, tapes, graphics and reflective solutions.

The expanded centre reflects a deliberate strategy of scaling infrastructure ahead of demand. Rather than waiting for capacity to pinch, Avery Dennison is building space and capability in advance, a posture that the company says improves delivery speed and reliability as the business grows. The facility also houses a dedicated customer experience centre, giving brand owners the chance to explore Avery Dennison’s solutions and innovations first-hand rather than through a catalogue or a screen.

Saurabh Agarwal, vice president and general manager for South Asia at Avery Dennison, framed the investment as bigger than square footage. “India remains one of our fastest-growing and most strategic markets globally. This investment goes beyond expanding warehousing capacity; it reinforces our long-term commitment to the region,” he said. His point is that as customer demand for speed and reliability accelerates, the company wants to do more than deliver world-class solutions, it wants to stand beside its customers where they need it most.

Hemant Tewari, operations and supply chain director for South Asia, stressed that an agile supply chain has become as important as product quality itself. “Customers today expect consistency and reliability at a pace. This new facility is a direct response to that shift. It’s not just about adding capacity; it’s about rethinking how we could serve our customers better,” he said. That reframing, from warehousing as a back-office function to supply chain as a customer-experience function, is central to the company’s India play.

Location was chosen with logistics in mind. The facility sits with connectivity via peripheral roads, which the company says enables faster movement of goods across India. Being outside city limits also frees operations from the timing restrictions that typically constrain last-mile logistics inside urban cores, a factor Avery Dennison says is key to its goal of achieving one-day delivery within Bangalore.

For a materials and labeling supplier, that kind of responsiveness is increasingly a differentiator. Brand owners managing just-in-time production lines cannot tolerate multi-day waits for a roll of adhesive or a batch of intelligent labels, especially when promotions or seasonal spikes compress lead times. A larger, better-sited distribution hub directly addresses that pain.

The inauguration also signals confidence in the broader Indian market. Avery Dennison has been steadily building its South Asia footprint, and a doubled distribution centre suggests the company expects continued double-digit growth in labels and packaging-related demand. The customer experience centre adds a softer layer, turning the site into a place where relationships are built, not just orders fulfilled.

The investment lands at a moment when global suppliers are racing to localize capacity in India, both to serve domestic demand and to hedge against longer international supply chains. By expanding warehousing and experience infrastructure together, Avery Dennison is positioning itself as a partner embedded in the local ecosystem rather than a distant vendor.

With this inauguration, the company says it is reinforcing a long-term commitment to India, building infrastructure to support both current operations and future growth across its key business verticals. For Bengaluru’s thriving brand and manufacturing community, the message is that mission-critical labeling and materials are now closer, faster and more reliably within reach.
