FESPA Mexico 2026 Puts Trends, Textiles and Smart Manufacturing on the Conference Agenda

From 10 to 12 September 2026, the Banamex Center in Mexico City will become the meeting point for printing, visual communications and textile manufacturing professionals as FESPA Mexico 2026 combines exhibitions, innovation and knowledge under one roof. Beyond the show floor, two conference programmes, Trends & Print Sessions and Textile Talks, will give visitors a structured way to engage with the forces reshaping both industries.

Trends & Print Sessions, organised by FESPA, runs as a three-day conference dedicated to the latest trends in printing, technological innovation, retail, branding, sustainability and smart manufacturing. The aim, in the organisers’ words, is to create ‘a space to learn, find inspiration, and connect’. The programme ranges from new marketing and visual communication strategies to automation, digital printing, print-on-demand and sustainability.

Specific sessions signal where the organisers see the conversation heading. ‘The Marketing the Printing Industry Never Did’ will analyse fresh ways to position and communicate print’s value. ‘Panel – From Print to Smart: The Future of Visual Communication’ tackles the integration of print, screens and digital technologies. ‘The New Era of Digital Textile Printing: Innovation, Productivity, and Business with DTF and Sublimation’ explores how those technologies are opening new business models.

Later in the programme, ‘The Perfect Color: Critical Control Strategies for Surprise-Free Output’ addresses colour management, while ‘Print on Demand: From Traditional Production to a Flexible Business Model’ and ‘Sustainable Screen Printing 2026’ round out the practical track. Speakers and representatives from La Union UILMAC, DS Latam, AMEXICCO, BeGreen, ColorMake, Kyocera Mexico, Epson Mexico, IKEA, Corel and Sumiprint, among others, will share experience.

Running in parallel, Textile Talks is part of the Expo Produccion programme and focuses on the specific challenges of textile manufacturing. It links technology, sustainability, innovation and competitiveness across topics from on-demand production and smart factories to supply chains, high-performance textiles and new manufacturing technologies. Notable sessions include ‘From Turbulence to Opportunity: Integrating Tariffs, Carbon, and AI to Improve Companies’ Profit Margins by 2026′, ‘Sustainability Applied to Textile Production’, and ‘On-Demand Production: the technology that is transforming the textile industry’.

The textile programme also confronts supply chain vulnerability, nanotextiles and their applications, the evolution of production processes, and the impact of fast fashion. A forward-looking session, ‘Adapting to New Sustainability Frameworks: From Regulatory Compliance to Competitive Advantage’, reflects how regulatory pressure is being reframed as a business opportunity rather than a burden.

Together the two tracks reflect a market where customisation, on-demand production, digitalisation, sustainability and automation are converging into new business opportunities. The organisers note that the growing connection between graphic arts and textile industries is precisely why the combined programme matters: a printer weighing a move into soft signage or apparel can hear both sides of that decision in a single visit.

Mexico is a sensible venue for this conversation. The country’s manufacturing base, proximity to the US market, and a growing domestic print and textile sector make it a pivot point for both graphic arts and apparel production in Latin America. Events like FESPA Mexico have grown in importance as regional printers look to upgrade capability without the cost of travelling to shows in the US or Europe. The DTF and sublimation focus in the textile track reflects a genuine regional boom: low barriers to entry, strong entrepreneurial printing culture, and demand from fashion, promotional and sportswear segments have made direct-to-film one of the fastest-adopted technologies in the market. At the same time, traditional screen printing retains a loyal base for high-volume and speciality work, which is why ‘Sustainable Screen Printing 2026’ earns a slot rather than being retired. The convergence the organisers highlight, customisation, on-demand, digitalisation, automation, is not abstract for Mexican producers competing on speed and price. For many, the conference is where they first encounter the workflow thinking that turns a press into a business system. That educational role is why FESPA pairs the exhibition with structured sessions rather than leaving learning to chance on the show floor.

The conference programme’s dual structure also reflects a maturing regional market. Where earlier editions might have been purely a trade show, the addition of substantive conference tracks signals that attendees want justification and strategy, not just product browsing. For a Mexican printer deciding between a DTF investment and a traditional screen line, hearing both sides in one venue reduces the cost of due diligence. The presence of global names, Epson, Kyocera, IKEA, Corel, alongside regional players, also indicates that international suppliers view Mexico as a growth market worth educating directly rather than through distributors alone. For local associations and exhibitors, the event is a chance to shape how the market adopts new technology, nudging it toward sustainable and automated practices rather than the lowest-cost option. The organisers’ emphasis on the connection between graphic arts and textiles is particularly apt for a market where many printers straddle both, running signage one day and apparel the next. That hybrid reality makes a combined programme more useful than two separate shows would be.
