Printpack India 2027 Sells Out Seven Months Early as Packaging Exhibition Demand Surges Across South Asia

The Indian Printing Packaging & Allied Machinery Manufacturers’ Association (IPAMA) has stopped accepting new applications for exhibition space at the 17th Printpack India, after the entire exhibition area sold out nearly seven months before the event’s opening. More than 600 Indian and international companies have secured space on a first-come, first-served basis across a gross exhibition area of approximately 100,000 square meters at the India Expo Centre & Mart in Greater Noida, Delhi-NCR. The 17th Printpack India will be held from 30 January to 3 February 2027.

Why the Early Sell-Out Matters

Selling out seven months ahead of opening is unusual for any trade exhibition, and it signals the intensity of demand in the Indian printing and packaging market. India is one of the fastest-growing packaging markets globally, driven by rising domestic consumption, expanding e-commerce, increasing pharmaceutical production, and a food processing sector that is scaling rapidly to meet both local and export demand. Each of these sectors requires packaging — and the machinery, materials, and technology to produce it.

The previous edition of Printpack India attracted 141,101 business visitors from 84 countries. IPAMA expects the 17th edition to see approximately 25 percent higher visitor attendance — a projection that, if realised, would bring nearly 180,000 visitors to the Greater Noida venue. That scale of attendance reflects both the size of the Indian market and the growing international interest in Indian packaging capabilities and partnerships.

What Will Be on Display

Exhibits will cover segments including printing machinery, packaging machinery, flexible packaging, corrugation, label printing, screen and textile printing, signage and LED, paper and non-woven products, pre-press, digital printing, post-press, converting equipment, software and services, consumables, spare parts, and other allied sectors. The breadth is deliberate: Printpack India positions itself as a comprehensive platform covering the entire printing and packaging value chain rather than a niche event focused on a single technology or application.

IPAMA has also allotted space to 22 associations, federations, and media partners in recognition of their contribution to the printing and packaging industry. This institutional presence adds a policy and advocacy dimension to the exhibition, creating a context where industry challenges — skills shortages, regulatory compliance, sustainability requirements — can be discussed alongside the technology and equipment that addresses them.

Supporting MSME Participation

IPAMA has offered discounts to its members and early-bird incentives to support the participation of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and emerging enterprises. This is an important inclusion strategy. The Indian printing and packaging industry is dominated by small and medium-sized companies — businesses that may not have the marketing budgets or organisational capacity to participate in international exhibitions but are central to the sector’s production capacity and employment. Making exhibition access affordable for these companies ensures that Printpack India represents the full breadth of the industry rather than just the large players.

Logistics and Promotion

IPAMA has finalized most of its service providers for the exhibition and will provide complimentary shuttle coach services from Botanical Garden metro station to the venue for exhibitors and visitors. The association has launched a national and international promotional campaign across print, digital, and electronic media, and plans to organize industry interactive meets and one-on-one meetings across various states in the coming months to increase visitor participation.

Invitations will also be extended to heads of industry associations, trade bodies, government organizations, and other dignitaries to attend the inaugural ceremony, ensuring that the event receives the institutional visibility and policy attention that a sector of this scale deserves.

The Regional Context

Printpack India’s early sell-out is not just a local story. It reflects the broader dynamism of the South Asian packaging market, where growth rates in packaging consumption are outpacing those in mature markets in Europe and North America. International exhibitors — from Europe, East Asia, and the Middle East — are investing in Printpack India because it provides access to a market that is expanding in volume, diversifying in application, and upgrading in technology. For machinery manufacturers and materials suppliers, being present at Printpack India is increasingly not optional but essential.
