Moss has acquired Sign Up Systems, a Nottinghamshire-based supplier of graphic tensioning systems for the display, event and exhibition industry, in a deal that extends the visual communications group’s capabilities in live events, outdoor advertising and structural applications.
Building on a Longstanding Relationship
Moss, the parent company of Moss UK, announced the acquisition on 14 July 2026. The deal follows the retirement of Sign Up Systems founder Jon Bromhead and cements a working relationship that has existed between the two businesses for around 15 years.
Sign Up Systems was founded in 2006 and is headquartered in Nottinghamshire. The company supplies graphic tensioning systems used in large-format displays for exhibitions, festivals, retail environments, corporate events and outdoor advertising. Beyond hardware, the company also offers design, print and installation services, giving it an end-to-end position in the live events supply chain.
Michael Green, managing director of Moss UK, said the acquisition was driven by mutual respect built over years of collaboration. “Having worked alongside Jon and the team for the past 15 years, we have been constantly impressed with the company’s inventive, solution-focused ethos,” he said. “Their deep knowledge of live events and structural applications has seen the development of extrusions that meet the rigorous demands of the sector, for example fast installation and durability in demanding environments.”
Sign Up Systems’ senior team will now report to Green, with operations continuing from the company’s existing Blidworth facility between Mansfield and Nottingham.
Complementary Production Assets
The acquisition brings Sign Up Systems’ 22 employees into a combined Moss UK workforce of 171 people, with a combined turnover of £32 million. The Blidworth facility hosts significant in-house production equipment, including two 5m-wide UV printers, one 3.2m hybrid UV printer, two 3.2m dye-sublimation printers, a 3.2m cutting bed, aluminium cutting equipment, CNC capability, rolling capacity and welding capacity.
These assets complement Moss UK’s existing large-format print, branding and signage operation, which operates from a 4,645 square metre production facility in Cambridgeshire. Together, the two businesses can offer a broader range of services to clients that need integrated visual communications for events, retail and outdoor environments.
The deal gives Moss expanded capacity in outdoor and structural applications, a segment that has grown as brands invest in experiential marketing and large-scale temporary installations. Among Sign Up Systems’ customers are luxury and automotive brands including Chanel, Jaguar Land Rover, Jo Malone and Porsche, and the team has worked on structures at major events such as the Goodwood Festival of Speed and Farnborough International Airshow.
Strategic Context
Moss UK was itself acquired by The Vomela Companies, a North American provider of visual communications, graphics and experiential events, in December 2025. The Sign Up Systems acquisition is the latest step in Moss UK’s strategy to build a broader live events and structural graphics platform under Vomela’s ownership.
Harry Smith, Sign Up Systems project manager, said the team was looking forward to joining Moss. “Their global reach and ambition make them the perfect home for our future, and we’re excited about what can be achieved together,” he said.
For the wider large-format and exhibition graphics sector, the deal reflects continued consolidation as companies seek to combine design, print, fabrication and installation capabilities to serve experiential marketing clients more comprehensively. Brands increasingly want single-source partners that can deliver a visual idea from concept through production and installation, and acquisitions like this one are how the industry is responding.
The live events and experiential sector has recovered strongly since the pandemic, with brands spending more on immersive activations, sponsorship branding and temporary retail environments. Companies that can produce and install large-format graphics quickly and reliably are well positioned to benefit from this trend. Moss UK’s acquisition of Sign Up Systems gives it additional capacity, expertise and customer relationships in this growing segment.
What This Means for the Market
Consolidation in the large-format and events graphics sector is likely to continue as clients demand more comprehensive service capabilities. The ability to design, engineer, print, fabricate and install complex structures under one roof creates both operational efficiency and creative control. It also allows companies to capture more value per project rather than subcontracting specialized work to third parties.
For competitors, the Moss acquisition raises the bar. Companies that only print, or only fabricate, or only install may find themselves at a disadvantage against integrated providers. The trend toward vertical integration is not unique to Moss; it is visible across the visual communications industry as companies try to differentiate through service breadth rather than price alone.
The acquisition also reflects the premium that buyers are willing to pay for specialized expertise in structural graphics. Tensioning systems, fabric engineering and large-format finishing require skills that are not easily replicated. By acquiring Sign Up Systems, Moss has added that expertise directly rather than trying to build it internally.
