This Spanish Label Maker Just Doubled Down on Bobst — and They’re Already Planning Machine Number Three

There’s an old saying in the equipment business: a sale is truly confirmed with the second machine. LOC España — a family-owned label manufacturer in Spain — has just proved that principle in practice.

The company has installed its second Bobst in-line flexo press, a Master M5, and they’re not stopping there. CEO Zoilo López is already talking about installing a third Bobst machine before the end of the year, plus their first digital press.

This kind of repeat investment doesn’t happen by accident. It’s built on trust, proven performance, and a partnership that goes back more than a decade.

LOC España’s relationship with Bobst began over ten years ago, driven by the expertise of the local Bobst team together with Feimar, the company’s official distributor in Spain. Their first machine, a Bobst Master M4, quickly proved its worth — versatile, reliable, efficient on a single platform, with intuitive operation and innovative integrated tools that made an immediate difference in production.

When expansion time came, the decision was almost inevitable. Rather than shopping around for alternatives, LOC España chose to invest in an evolution of the same model — the Master M5. The logic was simple: maximize tooling compatibility, share operator expertise, and enable smooth job transitions between production lines.

López put it succinctly: “We chose Bobst because it reflects our philosophy: a young, dynamic and above all, innovative company.”

The context for this investment is the so-called ‘Amazon effect’ reshaping label markets across Europe. Customers expect faster delivery, flawless quality, and competitive prices. For a specialist like LOC España, those pressures are constant.

“Our customers demand very high quality and zero defects,” López explained. “Orders are typically high-volume, and a single error can result in significant product losses.” That’s why the company has built its reputation on handling complex work — multilayer labels, variable numbering in booklet labels, reserved areas and special adhesives, complex die-cutting.

The Master M5 was installed in mid-2025 and had immediate impact — not just by increasing capacity but by integrating smoothly into the existing production environment. Production manager Andrés Marían singled out Print Tutor Technology as “a key differentiator from competitors” that aligns perfectly with LOC España’s quality culture.

The company is also expanding in food labeling, particularly labels for high-speed dual-head application equipment. Bobst’s speed and reliability have been essential here, as López noted: “Bobst has helped us achieve the speed and reliability needed to meet very tight deadlines, as well as to offer efficient finishing solutions such as multilayer and linerless labels.”

The after-sales support has matched the equipment quality. Jaume Martínez from Feimar captured the sentiment: “A sale is truly confirmed with the second machine.” López echoed it: “If everything goes as planned, we expect to install a third one this year.”

For a family business built on precision, agility, and trust, Bobst has become more than a supplier. It’s a strategic partner aligned with their values and ambitions — and that’s the kind of relationship that keeps generating repeat orders.
